The Mosaic Theatre Company
THE PROGRAM:
The Mosaic Theatre Company is a California non-profit 501C3 public benefit company. It seeks to work with school districts in and around Los Angeles County to bring strong social messages geared for children ages 5 - 10. Our programs are uplifting variety type shows utilizing short stories, dance, song, music, poetry and art. They focus on such topics as; self esteem, individuality, tolerance, compassion and self-expression. Children are introduced to theatre and art as a creative and emotional outlet, providing a positive alternative to violence, gangs, addictions, and other negative outlets. A school curriculum may be distributed to participating classes prior to attendance. We encourage teachers and students to discuss the social messages contained in the literature, to learn the songs, and to participate during the performance. Eventually we hope that students will be bussed to a professional theatre for the performance. Our goal is to obtain a theatre of our own. Until such time, we will perform in various professional theatres in the community. The program will be made available to all schools and students regardless of their ability to pay.
